Crimbo Haul

I know Christmas was quite a while ago now but my mum and sister got me some stuff in New York that I wanted to show you as well and they only got back a couple of weeks ago. First of all heres some stuff I've bought myself lately:

Liz Earle - I went to the new Liz Earle shop in Leeds because I was desperate to try Cleanse & Polish after reading so many reviews on the stuff. It definitely lives up to the hype. The limited edition tin is really cool. I love the toner I got too, it feels really refreshing on my skin. I also got the Bust Treatment because having a baby is not good for your boobs! Not tried it yet, but I'll let you know how it goes ;)

Yankee Candle - I really wanted wanted one of these massive candles after watching one of Fleur's videos. I totally fell in love with the strawberry buttercream one in Clintons, it smells delicious. It reminds me of the birthday cake body butter I got from Dylan's Candy Store a couple of years ago.

Sigma Brushes - I ordered these on Black Friday because they had free shipping. I really wanted some brushes for contouring my face. Unfortunately they sent me the large powder brush instead of the tapered face brush and I had to pay more money for it afterwards because of their mistake. Bleh. Although I like the brushes I'm not gonna order from them again. I didn't like my experience with their customer service.

MAC - I was quite excited for the Cham Pale collection and was tempted to order the special highlighting powders but when I tried them instore, I didn't really like them. Instead I just got the NC15/NW20 & I Get No Kick pencils. I love both of these, perfect for the waterline without looking too fake. I also got Harmony blusher for contouring as recommended by Pixi2woo and Amber Lights & Naked Lunch for my eyeshadow palette.

Bow Satchel - So this is the fake Miu Miu Vitello Lux I ordered off ebay. I'm not very impressed with it, it was a bit of a waste of money, so it might end up back on ebay. Its too hard and looks very cheap. I also got this weird coin purse free with it, at least that made me lol.

On to the stuff I got given:

Marmite Mug - My friend got me this epic mug! I love Marmite, I always add a thick layer of the stuff to crumpets and toast. Now I can drink hot marmite in my mug too :D

Bones - My boyfriend got me the Bones season 1-5 box set. So excited to finally watch it all!

M&M Pillow - Last time we went to New York I got the massive Reese's Peanut Butter Cups pillow so this time my mum got me the M&M one from M&M World. Its so soft and lovely to stroke. She also got me loads of American sweets such as Lifesavers, Tootsie Rolls & Cookie Dough Bites. Yum!

Sephora - My mum knows how much I love all the stuff in Sephora. I didn't ask for any of these, she just has fab taste. I got By Terry Touche Veloutee which is the best concealer ever. Its like Touche Eclat but about a million times better. Theres also a mini Viktor & Rolf Flowerbomb, Lorac liquid eyeliner, Marc Jacobs Lola rollerball, mini Nars Orgasm Illuminator & two random Sephora nail polishes. I've been using the Orgasm Illuminator every day since I got it and it looks amazing on my skin. It gives your cheekbones a beautiful peachy pink highlight. Its a wonderful product.

Chanel Bag - Okay its a fake but what a good fake it is! Its really soft, well made and looks just like the real thing. Plus my mum haggled with the seller so she bought it for the grand total of $20! Thats like 12 quid! Love love love this bag and love love love my mum :)

Dress - Motel
Cardigan - Oasis
Belt - New Look
Necklace - Argos

This is what I wore today to pick up some stuff from the Post Office depot. Its so annoying, they slipped the 'you were out' card through our letterbox yesterday when we were all in and awake. They don't even bother to take half the parcels they're supposed to with them. Lazy money grabbing sods, it happens all the time! Lol enough of ranting about Royal Mail, I'm like an old woman! On the way back I stopped off at H&M and New Look to buy some new stuff for me and Chloe. And a massive chav said I was 'gaaaaaawgeous', what a compliment eh?

I got this dress in the Motel sale. I'd wanted it for ages so when I saw it was half price I bought it straight away. It fits like a dream so I'm really happy I got it. I bought this belt from New Look a few years ago. It was really tight at the time but now even on the first hole its really loose. I think it finishes off the outfit though. When my boyfriend saw me this morning, he said I looked like Kat Slater from Eastenders! What?! I think its just because he hates leopard print. This always makes me want to wear head-to-toe leopard print just to piss him off. We got back together the other day, hes still being a bit of a knob but aren't most men?

And some exciting news: we're moving! We've lived in this shitty one bed flat since December 2009 and it has been absolute hell. Its been good living right next to the shops cos we don't have a car but Kirkgate is quite possibly the shittiest street in Leeds. Theres loads of tramps and we live opposite a drugs cafe. All our stuff is piled up because theres no room in here and you can hear everything happening out on the street. My boyfriend's estranged dad has a house in Huddersfield that he doesn't use so hes letting us live there rent free! I have no idea what Huddersfield is like, I've only visited there briefly, so does anyone know if theres any good shops, restaurants, gyms round there? Theres already a tenant there but he doesn't pay any rent either and hopefully he'll be leaving in the next couple of months. We're moving some stuff over tomorrow. I really hope this will a nice new start for us because I've been so unhappy here. Can't wait to move :D

nom nom nom.

Quelle surprise, my resolutions aren't going so well. I've had another hell week and things have pretty much gone tits up with my boyfriend. Luckily after he decided to go to his parents house, my mum and sister arrived fresh from their trip to New York. I'll show you all the goodies they got me in another post. My mum always makes the most amazing food, its definitely the thing I miss most about living at home. Last time she came up she made me this yummy breakfast and this time she made me this gorgeous piece of french toast. They'd brought back some challah bread from New York and she cut it into real doorstop chunks for the toast. Delish!

She also knows I love red velvet cake so she picked up this box of cake mix for me. We made it just before they had to go back to London so the entire cake is sitting in my fridge for me alone to devour! Thank god I managed to sneak in a couple of gym sessions and bought Just Dance 2 while they were here! It is so delicious and really moist. We made the frosting using mascarpone cheese so its incredibly sweet. It really is this bright too. Yummy :)

Hello 2011!

Happy new year everyone! I have to say that 2010 was one of the most horrible years of my life so I'm glad its finally over. Hopefully 2011 will be a bit better but my horoscope says things won't improve until around May! I'd like to take this opportunity to say thank you to everyone who has taken the time to read this blog. One of my aims for this year is to keep going with this and update it on a much more regular basis - at least 3 times a week. Sorry I disappeared for the second half of December but Christmas got too stressful and this last week has been the absolute worst of my entire life (what a way to finish such a horrible year!). I cried for most of Christmas Day and things got worse from there. Anyway I need to stop thinking about the past and look forward to the future, so here are my resolutions:

1. Look After Myself
The obligatory 'lose weight' resolution. I really need to stop eating junk and get to the gym more. If I can't get to the gym, I will go on a long walk. I'm still so unhappy with my appearance so I need to lose that last 20lbs ASAP. I also need to look after my skin, hair, teeth and general mental health more.

2. Be Nicer
I need to smile more and be nicer to those around me. I need to be positive and cut all negativity out of my life. I really am a horrible person but I think its because I'm honest. I'm honest with my feelings and opinions but this can sometimes turn to brutally honest. Maybe I should bite my tongue but I always thought that honesty was a good thing?

3. Appreciate What I Have
Jealousy has really got me down lately, I've probably lost a friend because of it. I need to stop being jealous when people have a better life than me and appreciate the things I do have. I'm not homeless, I have a boyfriend who loves & accepts me despite my many faults and I have a beautiful amazing daughter who is so special to me. One of the things I've done to combat this jealousy is to delete my facebook permanently. I've deleted it a few times this year but curiosity always got the better of me and I re-activated it, but never again.

4. Make New Friends
I don't have any friends left back home, I never made the effort to talk to any of them or see them because I had better friends up here. But everyone has left Leeds and I am left completely alone and friendless. So I'm going to join every mother & baby group I can in an attempt to meet some new friends. Hopefully blogging more will also make me some friends. All of you ladies in the blog world seem genuinely lovely so I'm gonna make an effort to comment on posts more, tweet you more because I would love to be able to count some of you as good friends.

5. Document Things More
I didn't get a Filofax for Crimbo cos the one I wanted was sold out but as soon as it comes back in stock, I'm going to buy it and keep a proper diary. I tend to keep things bottled up inside and thats what makes me so angry. I think if I have a proper outlet for this hatred I would be happier. I also want to take more photos and as I've said update this blog more. I just purchased a pro Flickr account so I'll always have somewhere to upload my photos :D

So heres to 2011! I'd love to hear some of your resolutions, lets hope we all manage to keep them!
