Chunky Yet Funky Footwear

I don't think I've ever bought so many pairs of shoes at the same time before! Chunky platform soles are everywhere right now & I couldn't resist adding a few to my shoe collection. I'm only 5'4" and unfortunately I cannot walk in heels whatsoever. Put some stilettos on me & I'd probably only be able to take a few wobbly steps before giving up. Just call me Bambi. I find platforms so much easier & more comfortable to walk in. They give me some much needed height & I don't have to worry about falling over with every step I take. I went for a mixture of ankle boots & shoes because I needed a heel for every occasion. Here are my chunky footwear picks...

Public Desire Shay Black Cleated Sole Chelsea Boots

I think my platform obsession started with the Topshop Allsorts boots. I never really got the appeal until I tried on a pair myself. Despite being ridiculously high they were incredibly comfortable. However Topshop sold out of my size & I generally prefer leather boots to suede so I bought these ones instead. Public Desire have been killing it lately! They have so many awesome shoes available & they're all decently priced too. The Shay boots have that same super high platform as the Allsorts boots and are pretty much exactly the same shoe apart from the material. As these are so high I don't really wear them on a daily basis, they're more of a night out style. I love them all the same though & I'm proud of myself for actually being able to walk in them!

Public Desire Aria Black Ankle Boots

The Aria boots are like the little sister to the Shay boots. They have the same Chelsea boot style but the height is a bit lower and there's less difference between the platform & the heel. These are so easy to walk in! I even managed to wear them in the snow as the cleated sole stopped me from slipping over. I've been happily wearing them every day because they go with absolutely everything. These boots are definitely my favourite out of all the shoes I bought. I'm rather tempted to buy the new white version too!

Public Desire Maddox Black Faux Suede Double Platform Creepers

During my gothy days I used to wander through Camden Market lusting over pairs of Underground creepers. I ended up buying some ridiculous New Rock boots instead & wore them to death. Creepers fit in more with my current style so I finally decided to order some. Again these are from Public Desire as they did ones that come with a double platform sole. I have to admit I feel a bit like Harry Hill when I wear them but I still think they look fab.

Garage Shoes Bella Black Patent Chunky Tassel Loafers

I've always wanted a pair of patent loafers but I'd never found a pair that I truly loved before. The extra chunky rubber sole on this pair sealed the deal for me. I've been wearing these a lot lately when I'm out shopping. They're quite sensible looking so I feel like they would be appropriate for an office environment too. I love the tassel & fringe detailing at the front. Unfortunately the toe space is quite narrow so they do squish my feet a bit. I really love them though so I'm gonna persevere & stretch them out.

The Whitepepper Black Leather Gladiator Boots

As well as beautiful smock dresses, The Whitepepper also make some totally stunning shoes. I got these for half price in their sale & I couldn't be happier with them! Although they have a strappy gladiator style, they feel more like a Winter boot as my feet don't get cold in them. I like wearing them with tights or socks even though they have an open toe. They are brilliant quality & look lovely on my tootsies. I'm still waiting for The Whitepepper to do some kind of discount on their pink walker boots though. They are basically my dream shoes!

Don't Be Jelly

JuJu Babe Jelly Shoes In Multi Glitter & Black - £25

Who didn't own a pair of jellies back in the 90s?! They have always been one of my favourite fashion trends & I consider them to be everyday shoes rather than just beach attire. JuJu are the creators of the original British Jelly Shoe. Although every clothes store seems to be selling their own jelly shoes at the minute, I think the original is always the best. Office started stocking JuJu jellies again when I started uni. I promptly bought a pink pair of Fergies and wore them every single day. I even wore them with tights in the winter because I loved them so much. I couldn't be happier that they're back in fashion again & the Babe shoes are my new favourite. They're so comfortable & the chunky heel gives me some much needed height. I actually bought these last year from American Apparel because Office, ASOS & pretty much every other online JuJu stockist were completely out of stock. Now that we've finally had some lovely weather come our way I figured I'd get them out again & indulge in some jelly loving.

There's so many different colours available but I went for the classics - Multi Glitter & Black. I'm sure I had some similar glitter ones as a child. I kinda wish I could've gotten the Mega Glitter ones because they're insanely sparkly but nowhere had them at the time. If I had the money I'd buy a pair in every single colour. The pastels are divine. I find myself lusting after the baby blue & pink ones all the time. I know not everyone likes the socks & sandals look but I think that JuJus look amazing no matter how you wear them. The glitter ones work really well with black tights or socks because you can see the particles a bit more. I especially like wearing the black ones with some frilly ankle socks, it makes them look even cuter! Are you a fan of jelly shoes?

Neon Bible

Shirt - eBay / Jumper - Mary Jane Fashion* / Skirt - H&M / Shoes - Barratts*
Necklace - Gogo Phillip / Bracelet - H&M / Watch - Michael Kors 5055

This has been such a busy week & its completely flown by! I've just been working constantly & trying to potty train Chloe at the same time. Both are going pretty well haha. I did manage to pop over to Manchester last night for a skincare event about a brilliant new product from Crystal Clear. More about that tomorrow... Anyway I actually took these photos on Monday but I've only just found time to post tonight! I wear a lot of black clothing but when I do opt for a bit of colour, I like something bold. I'm particularly attracted to neon colours & I couldn't resist getting this neon coral jumper from Mary Jane Fashion. The colour is just stunning & I'm not sure the photos properly show just how bright it is. I got a size S but it is still absolutely huuuuuge! If you like big slouchy warm knitwear then you'll really love this. They also do a bright pink version which I kinda want too. I teamed it with my eBay knockoff version of that studded collar Zara shirt & my trusty pleated leather skirt from H&M.

I also got those gorgeous spiked flats from Barratts that featured in my shoe wishlist! So pretty! They look even better in real life. Their sparkliness greatly pleases my inner magpie. Speaking of shoes... I'm selling loads of my old pairs on eBay. The listings end tomorrow so check them out here. All of them have only been worn once or twice. I've had bags of stuff to sell littered around my room for months and I finally got round to putting some of them up on Monday. eBaying things takes bloody hours! I've got some more clothes to photograph & add if I can be bothered. Well making a bit of extra money is never a bad thing so I'm sure I'll do it soon enough! I'm so happy with my new shoes though & they more than make up for all the nice old pairs I'm getting rid of.

Object Of Desire: Shoes

1 / 2 / 3 / 4 / 5 / 6 / 7 / 8

Shoes are something I always covet. Like most other girls, no matter how many pairs I own I always want more. Unless you're buying from Primark all the time they can get pretty expensive so heres a list of some of the ones I'm lusting after at the minute. Hopefully I'll be able to resist buying them all!

01. I went to Leeds the other day and couldn't resist nipping into the awesome new Topshop there. Almost every sales assistant was wearing these heels & they look bloody amazing in real life. I'm sure the staff discount definitely lessens the pain of the £85(!) price tag.

02. Victoria posted about these in one of her recent eBay posts & it was love at first sight. I love chunky black boots & the buckle detail looks so cool. They look like something you'd find in Topshop for 80 odd quid but these are only £27 including postage! I can definitely see myself ordering a pair of these.

03. Jeffery Campbell make some absolutely stunning shoes. I'd love to get my hands on some Litas but they're way out of my price range. These have been reduced to a more reasonable £55 in the sale and would look killer on a night out.

04. I may have already ordered these gorgeous studded flats from Barratts! I really like that they have both gold spikes & crystal gems. I like a lot of embellishment on my shoes so these definitely fit the bill.

05. The studded platform on these Topshop shoes looks so cool. I've drooled over these instore and they seem like they would be fairly easy to walk in despite the massive heel.

06. I recently bought Chloe a pair of yellow Hunter wellies & they look so cute on her! Its made me really tempted to invest in my own pair but in the more classic glossy black colour.

07. I really love these nude suede shoes from Republic. I wear a lot of black clothes so I think its nice to wear something contrasting on my feet. I like the chunky heel & the big platform makes them look like they'd be really comfy. Perfect for dancing all night long in.

08. I'd love to get my hands on any of the Vivienne Westwood x Melissa shoes but these are such a nice colour & are exactly the kind of thing I go for during the day.

Keep Or Return: Topshop Kerb2 Leather T-Bar Shoes

Topshop Kerb2 White / Topshop Kerb2 Pink

I have wanted a pair of t-bar mary janes for such a long time. I'm sure some of you will remember those Clarks Magic Step shoes from when you were younger. They came with a key that could turn a lock in the bottom of your shoes to reveal some pictures on the sole. I used to have a pair when I was a little girl and I really wish Clarks would bring them back, at least then I could get a pair for Chloe! When I spotted these on the Topshop website it was love at first sight. They instantly reminded me of those awesome Clarks shoes. They come in several different styles but I really couldn't decide between the white leather & pink leather pairs. My local Topshop didn't have them in store for me to try on so I figured I would just order them online & then I could return one of them. They arrived this morning and I'm having the hardest time choosing! They both look so cute but at £60 a pair, I can only really afford to keep one of them. I feel like the white would be more versatile because they would go with everything but the pink ones are ever so lovely too. Which is your favourite? Or do you think I should bite the bullet and keep both?

The frilly socks I'm wearing are also from Topshop. They were 3 for £8 so I couldn't resist getting them in every colour. I love this socks & shoes combo, I think its absolutely perfect for Spring. I probably look like a five year old wearing these with the Kerb2 shoes but I love them anyway!

ASOS Vera Pointed Flatforms

ASOS Vera Pointed Flatforms

Ever since Lily posted about her now sold out flatform shoes I've noticed that a lot of people (myself included!) have been looking for a similar pair. Last week I was browsing ASOS when I came across these beauties. I was undecided at first but kept coming back to that page & lusting after them. I waited until there was an discount code available as I thought £40 was a bit too much money. It paid off because they've just added a 20% discount with TREND20 bringing them down to £32 with free delivery.

I wasn't quite sure what to expect as I've never ordered shoes from ASOS before and most the clothes I've ordered on there were disappointing and got returned immediately. However they arrived this morning and I'm already completely in love with them. I've just taken them for a test walk outside and I find them to be really comfortable. It feels a little bit odd when you first put them on but it soon becomes just like walking in regular flats. I'm dreadful at walking in heels so these are the perfect alternative. The heel is only about 2 inches high so as I'm 5'4" its just the right height to stop me from feeling like a complete short-arse. They also come in yellow & green but I went for black just because they'll go with more stuff. The floral ones that Charlotte has are rather lovely too! I highly recommend these because its so difficult to find a good pair of shoes with a heel that don't hurt your feet.

Swedish Hasbeens x H&M

Yesterday I went to Manchester for a much needed shopping trip. As well as a box of Krispy Kremes I also came away with these beauties. I'd wanted some Swedish Hasbeens for ages, specifically these t-bars but the £150 price tag was a bit out of my reach! These bad boys were only £35. They are so amazing I can't stop staring at my feet! They're really comfy too, they're one of the few pairs of heels I own that don't kill my feet after an hour. And how cute are the tote bag and care instructions they came with? I love extra touches like that, it makes my purchase seem all the more special. I think these have sold out on the website now but the Manchester store had loads in stock. So glad to have found my shoes for the Summer!

New Layout & Shoes

I got bored of the green layout, so I decided to redo the layout into a grey and peach colour scheme, which is a fave combo of mine at the moment. I just wanted to post about these amazing shoes I picked up in the sale at French Connection. I was browsing when I saw the most perfect heels reduced from £110 to £55.

I normally hate brown but these were just too gorgeous to pass up. I tried them on and they were so comfy but their height absolutely terrified me! However I couldn't stop thinking about them, so I dragged my boyfriend along to see what he thought. "Very Alexa Chung" was his reply, so I knew I had to get them but I still put it off. I looked at them online where they were only £25 but completely sold out. Eventually it was the last day of the sale and I went in to buy them to find that all the brown had sold out. I'd avoided the black because I prefer black with gold rather than silver but considering they were all that were left and had been reduced down further to £25 like on the website, I got them. They are really comfy, I'll definitely be wearing these to our graduation party, which will probably be the next night out I have.
