nom nom nom.

Quelle surprise, my resolutions aren't going so well. I've had another hell week and things have pretty much gone tits up with my boyfriend. Luckily after he decided to go to his parents house, my mum and sister arrived fresh from their trip to New York. I'll show you all the goodies they got me in another post. My mum always makes the most amazing food, its definitely the thing I miss most about living at home. Last time she came up she made me this yummy breakfast and this time she made me this gorgeous piece of french toast. They'd brought back some challah bread from New York and she cut it into real doorstop chunks for the toast. Delish!

She also knows I love red velvet cake so she picked up this box of cake mix for me. We made it just before they had to go back to London so the entire cake is sitting in my fridge for me alone to devour! Thank god I managed to sneak in a couple of gym sessions and bought Just Dance 2 while they were here! It is so delicious and really moist. We made the frosting using mascarpone cheese so its incredibly sweet. It really is this bright too. Yummy :)

  5. Aw no :( that's awful. really hope everything works out with the boyfriend. it's the worst thing ever when you live together and start having problems. some time apart to appreciate each other and then some quality time together to work things through and you'll be fine! <3
On a more positive note, that cake looks AMAZING. really want to make some now :)

The French toast looks delicious! My husband likes making them for Christmas morning and my sister makes the best red velvet cupcakes! She's a pastry chef in Asia.
