If Money Were No Object

I often spend my time planning what I'd buy if I were to ever win the lottery. When you're feeling a bit strapped for cash it's so easy to fantasise about which mansions, holidays & cars you'd invest in. You'd have to get exceptionally lucky to win enough to afford all of those but even just a few years free from worry about rent, bills, food, childcare & travel expenses would be heavenly. The first time I played the National Lottery at age 16 I won £100. I've only ever won the odd tenner since then! Hopefully I'll have a bit more luck playing on Lottoland UK. They have a special DoubleJackpot feature so you can win twice the amount of money! Mansions aside, I have a beauty & fashion wishlist that's as long as my arm. Here's some of the things I would buy if money were no object:

Arran Aromatics Feel Good Formulas Lavender & Black Pepper Mineral Muscle Soak

Arran Aromatics Feel Good Formulas Lavender & Black Pepper Mineral Muscle Soak* - £9

I've been doing Jillian Michaels proud lately. Her infamous exercise DVDs have become a part of my daily routine and they've got me feeling pretty fantastic. Well, apart from the DOMS that is. When an intense combo of planks, pushups, squats & burpees begins to work muscles you didn't even know you had, delayed onset muscle soreness becomes an unpleasant inevitability. There's nothing quite like a nice long soak in the bath to sort out all your aches & pains. In the past I've mainly stuck to cosy bubble baths & luxurious baths oils but right now it’s all about the salts. Having fallen in love with Arran Aromatics' wonderful Sea Salt Scrub, their Lavender & Black Pepper Mineral Muscle Soak sounded far too heavenly to resist.

Bath salts are fairly akin to bath oils in that neither one will fill your bath with foam or bubbles. They both offer heady aromas which are sure to leave you feeling tranquil & ready for bed. However salts are the better option if you're looking to detox your body instead of hydrating it. Presented in another lovely kilner jar, this glorious pot of bath salts will instantly transform your regular bedtime bath into a truly indulgent soak. The jar contains a soothing blend of sea salt, lavender essential oil, dried lavender & black pepper. These ingredients work together to naturally boost your circulation, draw out toxins & warm up any aching muscles. It is the ultimate relaxation blend. It makes my whole body feel completely de-stressed & well rested. There's nothing better if you're looking for twenty-odd minutes of peace at the end of a long day.

This dreamy Lavender & Black Pepper combo is one of the loveliest bath products I've ever tried. I cannot even begin to tell you how incredible it smells! When you pop open the lid the lavender fragrance hits you immediately. It becomes even more potent once added to your bath. A small handful of this salty mixture dissolved in a hot bath is all you need for an unrivalled aromatherapeutic experience. It's such a rich & full scent that will soon set you on the path to the land of nod. It completely fills your bathroom & the scent stays on your body for such a long time. I don't think I've ever come across another bath product that I can still smell on my skin several hours later. I know I'm always in for a good night's sleep after soaking in these salts. My muscles & joints feel thoroughly at ease & I wake up feeling ready for another date with Jillian. The only trouble is actually getting out of the bath & into my bed!

STEAMCREAM Limited Edition Ume Ni Uguisu Tin

STEAMCREAM Limited Edition Ume Ni Uguisu Tin* - £12.95

I always like to keep a moisturiser or two in my handbag & the latest addition to my collection is this gorgeous little tin of STEAMCREAM. The beauty of this moisturiser is that it is a multipurpose cream suitable for use on the face, hands & body. The idea of using the same product on your face & body might make some people squirm. Surely something that can be used to soothe rough elbows & knees would be far too rich for your face? However you can rest assured that this cream is a small miracle worker & is one of the few multipurpose products that truly can be used anywhere.

Every tin of STEAMCREAM has been freshly handmade using high-quality, natural ingredients that are fused together by a shot of steam. This unique production method makes the cream very lightweight so it sinks in quite quickly & ensures it's suitability for all areas of the face & body. The texture is like a thick gel-cream hybrid. Although it is easily absorbed into the skin, the hydration is long-lasting so your skin feels soft & smooth long after you've applied it. The cream is vegan-friendly and mostly natural. There are a few preservatives present but without them the product would become unusable after a couple of weeks. Otherwise the ingredient list is very impressive. This moisturiser is full of natural goodness. Oatmeal, sweet almond oil, lavender oil, orange flower water, jojoba oil, neroli oil, chamomile blue oil & rose absolute are just a few of the key ingredients that will help make your skin feel nourished & hydrated and look bright & calm. The scent is like a mixture of lavender & Sudocrem. If you're not into herbal scents then this would probably be too overpowering for you but it's quite relaxing once you get used to it.

Due to the small size of the tin - which contains 75g of product - I don't use this all over my body. It's much better kept as a portable moisturiser for your hands, elbows, knees or any other dry patches you might have. I sometimes get flareups of eczema & this cream works incredibly well on those. It feels so soothing and keeps the dryness & irritation at bay. Personally, if I'm gonna use it on my face, I prefer it as a night cream. Using it overnight allows my skin to fully absorb all the lovely oils & nutrients from the cream. STEAMCREAM claim that it is suitable for all skin types & while I do agree with that, I think that anyone with oily or combination skin would be better off using something slightly lighter in the daytime. It sits really well under makeup but it can make my forehead look a little bit shiny. It doesn't contain any SPF either which is always something to bear in mind. If you have a dry or normal skin type then knock yourself out, this cream would be absolutely perfect for you 24/7.

One of my favourite things about this product is the adorable designs they put on their tins. Here I have the Ume Ni Uguisu version which is one of their limited edition designs for Spring. Ume Ni Uguisu is a Japanese idiom, meaning 'a great match'. The Japanese plum blossoms (Ume) & the Bush Warbler (Uguisu) symbolise new beginnings as traditionally their arrival announces the beginning of Spring. I love learning about Japanese culture & my dream is to visit Japan one day. I'd especially like to go during one of their Spring festivals. I think this tin is really beautiful & would make a lovely addition to any handbag. STEAMCREAM have so many different tin designs in their shop so you're bound to find one that you love.
