Recently I've been on the hunt for a new foundation. I normally wear Estee Lauder Doublewear in Shell but I often find it looks & feels a bit heavy. I wanted something really lightweight but with good coverage for Summer. Plus I hate that no matter how many different highlighters I use with Doublewear, my face still looks really matte. I want a natural, pretty glow for once. After reading loads of reviews about Chanel foundations I decided to go for Vitalumiere Aqua. I find it very difficult to find a foundation that actually matches my skin colour. Sometimes Doublewear even looks a bit dark on my skin. I bought Vitalumiere Aqua in the shade B10 - Pastel and for once my face actually looks like the same colour as my neck. The lady in House Of Fraser said it was one step up from a tinted moisturiser & that is definitely the best way to describe it. Its water-based so it really glides onto the skin and it feels like I don't actually have any makeup on my face. I normally use a Beautyblender for Doublewear but I find that this foundation applies best with a brush. I used a MAC 187 to get a flawless finish without streaks. The £31 price tag is a bit hefty but so far I think its worth every penny.

Gosh my hair looks ridic, can't wait to get my roots done on Tuesday ;)

  1. Pretty! I wanted to try that Chanel foundation, too, but the Estee Lauder one is about 2/3 the price. I actually prefer the double wear foundation over anything else I've tried.

Have you tried blending cream illuminators in with your foundation? That makes your skin glow, too.

  2. it looks lovely on you. i tried a sample but it didn't work very well for me, for some reason! i mix doublewear with a tinted moisturiser which makes it more dewy/not mask like. your eyebrows are amazing! x

  6. I've always wanted to try some Chanel foundation but it's SO expensive! I spend £21 on my Clinique foundation and I think even that is quite steep..but it's as high as I'll go and it really works well for me so I suppose it's worth it. Maybe for a birthday or something I'd ask for some. I love Chanel make up though, especially if you get a little Chanel paper carrier bag with it!

  7. I really want to try this foundation, but my local Debenhams/House of Fraser don't have a Chanel counter - rubbish! And it's too pricey to buy online and risk getting the wrong shade.

I'll try it eventually I hope!

  8. Ah you've done it AGAIN! I usually use doublewear too and agree with you on every point - It really is an amazing coverage though, and I NEED it to cover up my awful skin, and er, acne!

Whats Chanels coverage like? I've heard so much about it and am DYING to try it! :D x
