Twenty Seven

Dress - Vero Moda* / Shoes - Topshop / Bag - Zara / Watch - Michael Kors

As I mentioned in my last post I recently had my 27th birthday. I honestly still feel like I'm a teenager & not a real grown up! Does that feeling ever go away? I decided to wear something quite simple as we were spending the day in Blackpool & I wanted to be comfortable. It might seem odd that I'm wearing tights in August but last time we went I made the mistake of not wearing any & it was so windy that I couldn't walk two steps without my dress blowing up! Anyway this gorgeous Vero Moda dress caught my eye on the House Of Fraser website. I love the floral pattern & I thought the colours looked really pretty together. My obsession with skater dresses is still going strong but this one looks slightly more mature than some of the others in my wardrobe. I've gotten to the stage where I feel that most of my dresses & skirts are way too short for me now so I really appreciate the longer length of this dress! The pattern of the dress is quite bold so I decided not to wear many accessories. I just put on my Michael Kors watch & trusty old Zara handbag. I still absolutely adore these shoes from Topshop. I bought them a few years ago but I wear them all the time. I have a thing for white shoes & they're the perfect T-bar Mary Jane style.

I liked this outfit so much that I also wore it for my birthday meal in York with the rest of my family. Our train was a nightmare as the York races were going on & somehow their train from London was delayed by over two hours! By the time we all met up we were starving. We'd never been to Bill's before so we decided to eat there & the food was incredible! I had a huge burger with sweet potato fries & onion rings followed by pecan pie. Luckily the cut of this dress is super flattering & skims over my stomach so my food baby was kept perfectly concealed!

In Flux

Blouse - Poppy Lux* / Jeans - American Apparel / Bag - Zara / Boots - Topshop / Socks - Topshop
Bracelet - H&M / Watch - Watchco* / Rings - ASOS

Yay I have pink hair again! I had my hair done on Friday and decided to go for the same colour as last time. I also had an awesome blow dry with lots of volume & curls, much love to the girls at Cutting Room Creative. I totally forgot to buy some pink Directions last time I had my hair done so it faded immediately but I've got a new tub to top up with now. It's so nice to be re-pinkified :) I wore this outfit the other day for a meeting. My top is from a new fashion brand called Poppy Lux. They have some amazing clothes and everything on the website is under £45! I'm a huge fan of their dresses and cute prints. I tried to photograph how cool the back of this top is but not sure the pictures do it justice really. It has a sunburst cutout design and of course I love anything with stud detailing. I paired it with my American Apparel Easy jeans and Topshop Allegra boots.

I also have a new watch! I was kindly sent this by Watchco. I love huge chronographs and I couldn't resist this one from Diesel. I think it was the large '02 03 04' that drew me to this design. It's a nice change from my plain gold Michael Kors one for when I want something that looks a little less flashy. White fluff seems to be very attracted to the black band but otherwise I can't fault it. The box it came in looks pretty cool too.

Mother's Day

Jacket - H&M / Jumper - H&M / Shirt - American Apparel / Skirt - Missguided* / Tights - Missguided*
Boots - Topshop / Bag - Zara / Bolo Tie - Topshop / Bracelet - H&M / Watch - Michael Kors / Chloe's Dress - H&M

I know that probably only a small percentage of my readers are mothers themselves but I hope everyone had a nice Mother's Day yesterday. I sent my mum some pretty cards and photos from me & Chloe. Its a shame I couldn't actually spend the day with her but I saw her earlier in the week anyway. As a newly single mum I wasn't really expecting to get anything considering Chloe isn't even three yet and spends pretty much every waking minute with me. So I was very lucky to be treated to some new clothes by Missguided especially for Mother's Day! A couple of the things I picked out were this neon pink skirt & these heart print tights. I'm only 24 and despite being a mum I don't necessarily feel the need to dress 'mumsy'. I think its more important to dress how you want to dress so you don't lose your identity once you become a parent. I'm loving everything neon at the minute and anything with hearts on is a winner for me. I like that I kinda match with Chloe's neon pink fox & heart dress from H&M haha. Lets just take a minute to appreciate how cute these tights are. Think I might need to order the kitty ones next!

I wore this on Sunday for a trip to Meadowhall as we wanted to find Chloe some presents for her birthday next month but the only thing we came out with is the Daisy Duck toy you can see her clinging on to. Ah well I've got like six Disney princess outfits in my Amazon shopping basket for her so she'll still get spoiled! I wore the same thing on Saturday for the FABB bloggers event in Leeds. Its always lovely to catch up with the girls I've met in the past as well as meeting a few new faces. Loved chatting with Elizabeth who is an absolute sweetheart & she wears some gorgeous dresses on her blog so go check it out if you haven't already! I really enjoyed the presentations from Best British Bloggers & Ark Clothing. Pretty sure I need to buy everything that Hearts & Bows have in stock, especially this beaut of a skirt! Can't wait for the next event :)

In The Night Garden

Dress - Monki / Bag - Zara / Necklace - Urban Outfitters / Bracelets - Black Tied

Another outfit I wore for two days straight. Definitely getting lazier in my old age! I wore this last weekend on the Saturday when Andy & I went to see The Dark Knight Rises at the IMAX in Sheffield and again on Sunday when we took Chloe to see In The Night Garden Live at The Trafford Centre. I got this dress from Monki in the sale & I'm pretty sure everyone else in the world did too. I wish there was a Monki up here, they do such lovely stuff. The sizing seems a bit random considering this is an XS so I'd prefer to be able to try stuff on rather than just ordering it online. I absolutely love my new Zara bag which I bought after Kate posted about it. Its the perfect size for day or night & I can even fit my DSLR inside. On my lips I'm wearing one of the new Revlon Kissable Balm Stains in Rendezvous. I love this colour so much as its just the right mix of orange & red. They last a long time too, it even survived me gorging on a Barburrito.

We paid £10 extra so Chloe could meet one of the characters after the show and get her photo taken with him but she had a sudden bought of shyness and wouldn't go near him without me there. She was happy to wave and talk to him but she kept trying to run away from him rather than hug him! Hence me being next to her pulling the stupidest face ever. This is why I hate other people taking photos of me - because this face happens. Andy thinks its hilarious and that I look really proud to be meeting Iggle Piggle. I suppose it was all worth it because Chloe had an amazing time. I even teared up a bit at how happy she was haha. She loves the photo and reminiscing about the time she 'hugged' Iggle Piggle.

Welcome To Loserville

Shirt - New Look / Jumper - H&M / Skirt - H&M / Jacket - Primark / Bag - Zara / Necklace - River Island
Brooches - Stolen Thunder & Helpless Romantic / Rings - ASOS & Regal Rose

This is what I wore last week when I went to see Loserville the musical at the West Yorkshire Playhouse in Leeds. One thing you might not know about me is that I used to be a die-hard Busted fan. My friends & I would stalk them everywhere. We even used to get drunk on the train at 7am before CD:UK recordings so we wouldn't seem quite so lame on the off chance that they would speak to us. Ahh the logic of 16 year olds... I digress but the point is that even after all this time they still hold a special place in my heart. So when I heard that James was making a musical based on some of the songs by his second band Son Of Dork, I knew I had to go see it. It told the story of a geek called Michael Dork who is trying to invent e-mail in the 1970s. It doesn't sound like the best plot ever but it definitely made for a really fun musical and brought new life to songs that I never really paid attention to. The best part was that Lil' Chris is one of the stars! I bloody love Lil' Chris and still listen to Checkin' It Out all the time haha! The whole cast were amazing actually. Gareth Gates was pretty good too even if he does look really old these days! I think its only on for another two weeks but you should definitely go check it out if you're in the area. I left with a huge smile on my face & keep finding myself singing along to all the songs.

I popped into Topshop on the way home and now I am desperate for some of their new shoes. I really want these three pairs. I secretly hated the Vectra shoes for the longest time and never got the appeal but the new canvas versions are amazing. I am poor though so help me decide which ones to get! Surely three pairs of studded shoes is overkill anyway?

Triangle

Top - American Apparel
Skirt - Zara
Jewellery - Gogo Philip

Hiya babes! I got back from London on Wednesday night and I'm really missing it already. I feel like I did more last week than I normally do in a month! On Friday I went shopping round Oxford Street and spent a ridiculous amount in Topshop, American Apparel, MAC & Illamasqua before having a huge pulled pork sandwich in my beloved Bodean's & a papaya bubble tea in my fave dim sum cafe in China Town. Then on Saturday I went with my mum & Chloe on a day trip to Brighton. I'd never been before so I was really excited to go. We had cupcakes from Angel Food Bakery in the Lanes and then went to the pier for some fish & chips. Chloe loved the wind in her hair, eating mushy peas & she got to meet her hero Igglepiggle haha. Sunday was spent chillaxing before another day trip to Oxford. That place is ridiculously touristy! I'd never been there before either but I won't be going back in a hurry. We had lunch in Jamie's Italian where I had a lovely burger with some polenta chips. My hayfever really ruined that day for me, I sneezed literally every minute we were there. People must've thought I was diseased!

On Tuesday I finally got to go to Westfield! We ate in Wahaca which is my 2nd fave restaurant ever (Bodean's being the first!). Gotta love a good taco. Reading back this entry its no wonder I've put on a few pounds! We saw Nick Hewer filming for the Junior Apprentice. I think they were running a flower stall but I only found that out after we left, gutted we didn't buy any when the girl tried to sell them to us. Should be interesting to watch, hopefully my face won't appear in the background! Then we walked around the shops. Finally managed to buy a MAC Ever Hip lipstick after going to 3 different stores in London searching for it. The girl there said they had loads left so if you're looking for one, head to Westfield sharpish. I also got a nail polish from Inglot. Actually in total I bought 6 nail polishes last week, I must be mental. I bought this pink skirt from Zara which was only £7 in the sale and all this awesome gold triangular jewellery from Gogo Philip as all their stock was half price. Anyone whos been to Westfield, did you go in a shop called Gilly Hicks? I'd never heard of it before but it was so weird, like an Australian Hollister on crack. I hate shops like these, how are you supposed to see any of the bloody clothes? As we were leaving I swear the girl at the front said 'Have a super awesome day you guys!'. Dear god...
