Beetlejuice Beetlejuice Beetlejuice

Top - Topshop / Skirt - H&M / Necklace - Topshop / Bracelet - Girlprops / Rings - Urban Outfitters

I am a little bit obsessed with leather skirts right now. I bought both the skater & pleated style ones from H&M at the beginning of the year and I find myself wearing them constantly. I think they're both really versatile and add a cool edge to an outfit. Today I've paired the skater style one with this stripey top from Topshop. I saw one of the sales assistants in the Manchester Arndale store wearing this last month & have wanted it ever since. I definitely look a bit Beetlejuicy, especially with my white blonde hair. Hopefully I look a bit more put together than him though haha!

My boyfriend had a week off work recently and we spent most of it eating. Think we went through about 4 packs of steak! Needless to say my face looks a bit pudgy. I actually put on 4lbs in one week! Last week I was very luckily contacted by Jenny Craig who offered to send me a 14 day trial of their programme. I jumped at the chance and after speaking with my consultant on Wednesday I did my first day of the diet yesterday. It all seems really easy so far and I was pleasantly surprised to find that the food is delicious. Yesterday I had chocolate cereal for breakfast, chorizo & bean soup for lunch, then chicken tikka for dinner. Heres hoping that the rest of the meals are just as good & that I manage to shift the weight I put on by doing it! I'll let you know how I get on.

The lipstick I'm wearing is one of the Urban Decay Super-Saturated High Gloss Lip Colours. This neon pink colour is called Crush. I love the formula of these as they're really long lasting and glossy without being sticky. This colour is just so bright, I couldn't resist it. Its fairly warm toned compared to most neon colours so I'd liken it to an even brighter version of MAC Impassioned. On another note I'm totally loving my foundation today. I bought the Barry M white foundation creme yesterday and mixed it with my Estee Lauder Double Wear in Shell. Hello perfect colour match! Totally recommend it if your foundation is a bit dark for you. Huge thanks to Amy for the awesome tip!

Cosmo Blog Awards 2011

Dress - Topshop / Jacket - Primark / Bag - Mulberry Mabel / Belt - Primark / Badges - Stolen Thunder & Helpless Romantic / Necklaces - Girlprops, Topshop, Urban Outfitters & This Charming Girl / Rings - Urban Outfitters, Me & Zena, Galibardy & Topshop

Not quite sure why its taken me until now to write this post but I didn't want the year to end without acknowledging this event. I took these photos today because incidentally I'm wearing the same thing sans more gold jewellery than Mr T owns. If you compare them with the pictures below you can see how bad my roots have gotten! This outfit is literally comprised of my very favourite items of clothing. Fave jacket, fave dress, fave bag & fave lipstick, which is Tramp by Illamasqua. Its probably safe to say that this outfit represents me in a nutshell. Of course I love bright colours, polka dots & peter pan collars as well but I often find myself going back towards my gothy tendencies.

I'm not gonna go on about the awards themselves because they were months ago but I'm sure you all know by now that I didn't win. I don't think anyone was more deserving of the honour than Zoe so they definitely chose the right winner. The main reason I made the three hour trip down to London was because this was going to be my very first blog event and I was so excited to get the chance to meet some of my favourite bloggers. I was feeling ridiculously shy at the time & was relying on the much needed free cocktails to ease my nerves. I think they only used about one shot of vodka per ten cocktails so even though I chugged that amount back I was nowhere near drunk enough and remained my awkward self for most of the night. Luckily Gem put me totally at ease. She really is one of the loveliest girls you could meet. Everyone I met that night was so nice & I can only hope I get to meet some more of my fave bloggers next year.

Being nominated for a Cosmo blog award this year has opened up so many doors for me. I've been to a few more events since this one, made some PR contacts, gained loads more followers & best of all I can now say that I count some bloggers as my friends. I'm not really sure how I made the shortlist but I'd like to once again thank everyone who nominated & voted for me. Thanks for supporting me this year & I'll see you all tomorrow in 2012 ;)

Electro Girl

Playsuit - Topshop
Cardigan - River Island
Tights - Primark
Ring - Miss Selfridge
Necklace - Girlprops

I always feel a lot happier when I'm wearing bright colours and today is no exception. I think its like how the weather affects your mood, colours have that effect on me. Everything I'm wearing other than my new Miss Selfridge ring was actually bought years ago. One thing that I'm really glad I dug out of my stash is this orange lipstick. It's Electro by Mac and I think its such a nice colour. I'm definitely loving the bright lips trend this Summer. Are there any uber bright shades you'd care to recommend?

Not doing much today, think I'll just take Chloe to the park later on. I'm trying to get back into my design work as I think its definitely time I started looking for a job. Not that I'm likely to get a design job around here. Think I'll probably just apply to all the temp agencies & supermarkets to see if theres anything available part-time. I would still really like to continue with my graphic design work so I updated my portfolio website. I know its the new trend amongst bloggers to start up jewellery shops so I was thinking about starting up a shop selling giclee prints of my work. Well I'd have to start working on some stuff thats actually sellable. Most of my work is just projects I did at uni. Either way, I need a job haha.
